There is something quietly ceremonial about the last weekend before the school year begins, and the Tseri Youth Centre has built an event around exactly that feeling. Xerotopia Pre School-University Party 2026 takes place on Plateia Agiou Andronikou in Tseri, Nicosia, on Saturday 5 September 2026, with doors — or rather, the square — open from 18:00. Admission is entirely free.
The evening's soundtrack is in the hands of DJ Anthos Agapiou, whose set will anchor the night and keep the crowd moving well into the evening. Alongside the music, Olariu Dance School brings a live performance element that adds colour and spectacle to the open-air setting. Food, drink and accessories stalls will be scattered across the venue, giving the event the relaxed, browsable quality of a neighbourhood festival rather than a ticketed concert.
Xerotopia is genuinely cross-generational in its ambition: children's activities are part of the programme, making it as suitable for families with young kids as it is for teenagers marking the end of summer or university students gathering before the academic year kicks off. It is the kind of free community event that Nicosia does well — informal, inclusive and rooted in a specific local identity.
