Why go

  • Historic first Mediterranean Games on Cyprus
  • Over 300 athletes from ten nations
  • Tickets from €5; under-10s free

Cyprus makes history in October 2026 as it hosts the Mediterranean Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Games for the very first time. The island's eastern coast — already synonymous with sun, sea and sport — will take on a new dimension when the indoor stadium «Palataki» in Paralimni becomes the stage for two days of precision, artistry and international competition.

The event runs on 2 and 3 October, bringing together more than 300 athletes from ten countries: Cyprus, Greece, Russia, Italy, Serbia, Spain, Finland, Lithuania, Armenia and Belgium. Alongside the Mediterranean Games, the Protaras Cup will be contested simultaneously, giving the programme an additional competitive layer and ensuring a packed schedule of performances throughout both days.

Aesthetic group gymnastics is a discipline that rewards harmony above all else — teams of athletes move in fluid synchrony to music, blending elements of dance, acrobatics and classical gymnastics into a single seamless whole. It is a sport that rewards the attentive spectator: the closer you watch, the more you notice. For families, sports enthusiasts and anyone curious about a discipline rarely seen live in Cyprus, this is a genuinely unusual opportunity.

Tickets start at just €5, with free entry for children under 10. A full schedule of bouts and group performances is available in advance. October in the Famagusta district is reliably warm and unhurried — a fine backdrop for a weekend that combines competitive sport with the relaxed pace of the Protaras coastline.
